Now, normally, such a thing would've been left alone by the blond man, but today he was feeling particularly giddy. He wore a thin black jacket over a white shirt, hood covering most of his blonde hair, only his bright yellow bangs visible. His eyes showed both concentration and challenge as he took step after step on the fence. Not many seemed to care for the strange man's behavior though, as they went along with their own business, trying to ignore the crazy looking man who was jumping from fence to fence.
Finally, Elijah performed a misstep, falling hard onto the dusty ground. The sound of happy little squeaking filled the air for a moment, before the sound muffled over itself. The blond trainer half-grinned, and half looked annoyed at the source of the laughter. It came from a Pichu, standing up on the fence he had been just a moment ago. His Pichu in fact. Traitor. He couldn't help but think, but he smiled all the same. "I really need to get more practice done, eh, Xanthe?" He mumbled to the Pichu, in between chuckles. The pokemon nodded in agreement, a look of glee on her features, before she leaped off the fence, landing on her trainers head, her fur only slightly brighter than Elijah's hair. "Show off." He said grudgingly, getting up and dusting off the dirt from his pants.
"Well, we've got a job to do, so let's get this over with already." He mumbled, readjusting the hood and setting off for Verdanturf once more, this time using the road. Being part of Ultimatum was definitely time consuming. Especially with all the bosses he had to listen to. For today, he had been ordered to get a pokemon for them. For what, he did not know, but he had his orders and he dared not disobey them. It had to be a trainer's pokemon, they had said, to ensure the validity of their experiment. He could only so much as guess as to what they were planning to do with the pokemon. He was getting paid well enough for the meager task, and that was all that counted to the blond.
He scoured the rather small town, keeping away from the crowds, trying to find a trainer who was separated from them rest. Not an easy task for such a small place. He wandered around, not seeing anyone that fit such a description. Well, this is taking longer than expected. He thought to himself, frowning slightly. Looks like I'm going to have to separate someone from the pack instead. Xanthe shifted onto his shoulder instead, helping him look around. He'd have to choose someone to lure away.
He spotted boy, looking no more than eighteen, with strange green hair. He grinned. Show time. He quickly approached Wally, wearing an expression of horror. "Excuse me, are you a trainer?" said Elijah, his voice riddled with panic. "I lost one of my pokemon in the cave, but I'm not really sure where. All I have is my Pichu with me, and she's not much help with all the rock pokemon around. Could you help me find my pokemon?" He said, trying to make his voice sound as pleading as possible. |

The means of a homecoming would made one's soul shine with enlightenment or wither with bitter torment. In Wally's own case, it was a mix of both. He silently remembers his aunt and uncle, who would hold him back from so much because of his condition. Wally always understood their well intentions, yet he knew he wanted to do more. It never felt as right to sit and wait while the world passed him by, and for the most part, chasing after life proved all but futile.
The bright sun beamed upon the mix of forest and suburbia, with fences of dried white paint and friendly faces all around him. At the thought, Wally wondered of how his own relatives were holding up, and perhaps, if he would visit them again. If it weren't for Wally's own journey, he'd would've loved to stay for a while. What he didn't come to notice was the odd looks of someone hopping around them. Yet, for the time, Wally was more focused upon his slight hints of nostalgia.
Meanwhile, Gardevior was half walking and half waltzing at his loving trainer's side. The clear air and the innocent sounds of fellow Pokemon and soft breezes lifted his spirits in it's own little way. Yet, a sound came to snap him out of his state of bliss. Whimpers and soft pleas. A hooded human came to confront Wally, coming for help to retrieve his lost Pokemon in a cave. Gardevior felt a bit reluctant, yet worried, and so he stood by, regardless.
Wally pondered for a bit. The man seemed legitimately worried of his own Pokemon, and it wasn't like a lone Pichu could hold it's own alone. With a confident and soft sense of sympathy, the young trainer nodded and wore a smile. "Of course, we'll certainly help sir. Though, we'll try and follow you to the cave, if it's alright with you." Wally said to the hooded one.

Ahh yes, the plan was going on smoothly. He looked over the green-haired, taking in his appearance. Strange green hair, that was covered. A somewhat thin build and he was certainly taller than this younger boy. "Thank you so much!" He said enthusiastically, clasping his hands together, tilting his head and smiling cheerfully. "Right, its that cave over there, I sorta got lost in it and so did my pokemon. It's a Magby by the way, I'm sure he's afraid right now without me." He placed on a frown, averting his gaze from Wally to look at the cave's entrance, the very one that led to Rustboro city. "My name's Ric by the way, thanks for helping me ~"
With Wally agreeing to him, he quickly set off in a brisk pace, eying the apprehensive looking Gardevoir. He muled over what other pokemon this trainer might have. If the Gardevoir was any indication, then his other pokemon would be pretty powerful too. But he wasn't here for a battle after all. His plan was a simple one. Snatch a pokeball and get away, a hit and run if you will.
He led them into the cave, giving a knowing to Xanthe, who nodded and kept her grip on him. Getting separated now would be a drastic setback, neither wanted that. "Magby! Magbyyyyy, where are ya fella?" He called out, looking for his pretend lost pokemon while he surveyed the area. Xanthe did the same, except she squeaked in her own voice. Right, he still wasn't sure as to where the other could be hiding his pokeball, and snatching something you don't know the location off was certainly a difficult task.
His eyes lit up as he saw a number of rock, blocking their path. Perfect. He had been hoping that that obstruction was still there. "Hey, could you have one of your pokemon move the rocks over here? We could keep searching through here. I think I took a different way but... every corridor looks the same to me..." He let out a sigh, staring at the rocks in front of him. Well, if he could make Wally believe he needed these rocks out of way, and release at least one more pokeball, he could find out where he kept the rest. Of course, he was worried about the Gardevoir as well. It was a psychic type, that much he knew, and it had been some sort of experience that such pokemon could sense bad intentions, that bit worried him. But there was not much he could do but seem genuine in his plight.
"My poor Magby..."

The trainer and his Gardevior were not on their way to rescue a Pokemon, and an interesting one at that. Wally had heard quite a bit of Magby, and it's own evolved forms, which had more than left Wally with intrigue. Seeing one up close and personal would be an interesting and peaceful event, if all went well, and maybe he'll even gain a new friend along the way. As they traveled deeper into the cave, Wally looked around it's molded and darkened corridors, while also taking a look at Ric. He seemed awfully worried, and Wally couldn't help but wonder of his Magby, cold and alone in a labyrinth of darkness and scary Pokemon.
Wandering around the place, it was purely disorienting and increasingly annoying for Gardevior. Yet, all he could focus on was the human that named himself Ric. He seemed...odd...yet innocent enough, and yet, something was off about him. It wasn't a hundred percent clear, but Gardevior's instinct whiffed a certain scent of darkness within the man. The Pichu next to him was in the same spectrum, which could only mean brewing trouble. If anything, he would have to keep as close an eye on him, and if he'll have his say, the first sign of danger will be the last.
The group eventually came onto a wall, covered in stones that covered the way forward. A hell of a dead-end, if anything. Wally took a few steps forward as he investigated further, taking Ric's advise into account. The boy turned to him and to Gardevior and smiled as he turned to the side of his belt, looking into his own pouch that contained his remaining Pokemon. He took out the lone, empty one, and turned to his Pokemon, only to be met with an odd glare.
Gardevior didn't want to leave, not just yet. This all felt too out of place for him to leave his owner's side right away. Meanwhile, The Pokemon's look began to make Wally a bit uneasy, and so he simply switched with another Pokeball, and called out his Magneton. Wally smiled at the odd electric type and commanded it towards the rocks with a single finger. "Magneton, try to get the rock out of the way carefully...",Wally said, as he stepped back to Gardevior's side once more, as Magneton began to use it's own mix of electricity to pry out the bundle of gravel, all three of them unknowing of whatever out be on the other man's mind...

He convinced himself that it was honest enough action, after all, it was normal for people to look at what others were doing, so he felt safe in doing so. He smiled to himself, turning his head a fraction to focus on the Magneton. Ahh, so the trainer didn't seem to favor a certain type after all, a Gardevoir and Magneton barely had a thing in common. But it was interesting, to know that there was diversity in that pouch of pokeballs. He noticed that the green haired boy hadn't introduced himself, but that didn't worry him, he didn't need to know the names of his victim to accomplish his mission. He watched the rocks were slowly blasted and, or, moved away by the magnet pokemon. He took a few steps closer to Wally, as though trying to move away from the moving rocks, but was in fact trying to get a better look at the pouch.
It didn't seem too hard to open, probably chosen for its practicability. Good. Easier to open. He thought to himself, having wondered if he needed to slash the thing open or not. He glanced at the path they took, wanting a clear of an escape route as possible. It seemed clear, void of both people and pokemon.
Could this get any easier?
He smiled to himself. Then, without warning, he lunged at Wally's pouch, prying it open and taking one pokeball from. "Xanthe, a Swift if you will ~ |
" He hummed out, already running, hood bouncing on his head. Xanthe, the Pichu still gripping at his jacket, turned on his shoulder. With one paw still holding onto the fabric, she held up one glowing paw and swiped it through the air. Out materialized star shaped projectiles, too many to count, trailing behind them, providing an ample distraction in Elijah's opinion as he sprang through the cave and out the entrance. " So long Greeny ~ It was nice meeting you ~" He shouted out, his tone cheerful as ever. A smile furled from his lips as he met sunshine. He had always preferred it when it was a sunny day. However, this also presented the next predicament. It was certain that people would notice if some guy just suddenly flew out the place, even more so if he was being chased. It would raise certain questions he didn't want. The only answer he could give himself was to lose his pursuer first, and worry about getting out of the city later. He ran as quickly as he could, making it past the earlier fences and back to Mauville. There didn't seem to be any good hiding places in Verdanturf, and it only seemed the smart thing to do to move to the bigger city, where getting found was less likely. He gritted his teeth, eyes flashing at Xanthe, who still clung onto his clothes. " Tch." He placed the stolen pokeball into his pocket, and took the yellow mouse in his arms. " Wouldn't want you to fall off, eh?" He murmured to the Pokemon, hugging the relieved electric mouse against his chest. [/div]

Wally smiled softly as Magneton helped open up the path for his trainer and for Ric. Everything seemed to be going well enough, so far, and in due time, Magby will be home with his trainer, safe and sound. Wally turned to see Gardevior, who simply stood still and still looking onto Wally. I wonder what's made him act like this so suddenly, Wally thought to himself. A good question indeed for a trainer.
Gardevior continued to look at Wally with worry and intent. With everything that's happened, the Pokemon was beginning to grow as uneasy as his trainer was, and for good reason. He began to turn onto Ric when, out of the corner of his eye, disaster struck in front of Gardevior's gaze. A Pokeball was quickly swiped from Wally, as he was tripped onto the ground with Ric's Pichu performing Swift.
"So long Greeny ~ It was nice meeting you ~"
Gardevior gritted his teeth in pure anger. He was right all along, and he should've acted sooner. The Pokemon quickly came to Wally's side and softly slapped his face.
"Garde! Gard Gardevior!!" "Wh, wha?..."
Wally stood up and took to his open pouch, only to freeze in cold fear and realization. One was missing. "No..." Wally lurched over to his front and punched the ground in aggravation. "Stupid! So...!", he cursed to himself, as Gardevior and Magneton huddled close to him. Gardevior spoke to Magneton in his own language, and so Magneton began to chase forward, with Gardevior helping his trainer up carefully as he coughed and wheezed heavily. "W-we have to....get back..." Wally tried to muster with a weakened voice, but Gardevior understood his feelings and trekked forward, with Wally following close by. Picking up his speed, Gardevior was more than determined to hunt down this so-called thief. This "Ric" human was going to pay, one way or another...

Clutching tighter still to Xanthe, he slid past one of the alleys and proceeded to climb the escape later.
Cheating pokemon and their gliding abilities He thought, as he proceeded to scale the stairs. The only comforting thought was that the Gardevoir probably had to leave his trainer behind, as he had yet to see a sign of the green trainer. Was it possible that the other had gone ahead and let his pokemon run after him. He jumped off the ladder, and onto the flat roof of the building. Taking out one pokeball, he released his own Houndoom onto the roof. Gardevoir and Magneton, both susceptible to Arkadius's attacks. He wasn't at all sure which pokemon it was that he had stolen, but he'd check that later on of course.
The Houndoom's tail flicked as he was released. "C'mon Arky, I don't like it here." said Elijah, running again after the short break. The Houndoom nodded, following his trainer swiftly. The positive thing about the open space was that he could finally release his Aerodactyl anytime, no longer bothered by all the tight spaces of the city below.
Elijah jumped across the the building, the gap between the short enough for him to clear it, and so did Arkadius. He looked behind him again, standing still, looking for the Gardevoir once more.
