Opening Event?

Well, I was thinking that in honor of our official opening, we could have an opening event in which something is given away or we have a contest of some kind. We could even start a tournament of some sort! Just something that gets members to come and stick around. I'm not creative with this sort of thing so I don't really have any suggestions on a specific event. But still, wouldn't this be fun?

I've been somewhat brainstorming for an event like this lately. A tournament seems like it might be a good idea, I'm just afraid of it getting out of hand or hard to keep up with. I can envision a Pokemon battle tournament getting nasty. xD But we could possibly have a referral contest? I don't know... I'm usually a creative person but not with this. x_x

I also want to have a member of the month, character of the month, couple of the month, thread of the month, maybe even pokemon of the month! We could have nominations and then polls, obviously.

Prizes for events and otms would be a reasonable amount of pokedollars, and maybe some type of special priveledges? Also, I have just about every starter pokemon to give away as well as other high-demand pokemon that I've bred, and if anyone wants to donate pokemon they breed that would be nice.

Well maybe for an opening event, perhaps people can create skins/banners for the site and earn something, like site money or a pokemon they couldn't normally get on here without being a certain person. [Ex. no puesdo legendaries unless your characters them, such as Lance's Dragonite.] Or something specials like a sig/avvy or a pokemon with different moves such as a Surfing Pikachu or etc. Could be the same for a refferal contest. Like for that, people receive an egg or an extra PC spot once they refer so many members.

Maybe an event like:

Recieve a Dream World Ability Eevee!

It can evolve into anything and retain its special ability. The catch: You have to complete 5 rps with the Eevee to allow it to evolve! That means no skipping off with your water stone and evolving it right away. That would be cheap. No, you can get an Eevee for the next three days! Just post here if you want one!

Or, instead of Eevee, a certain starter. Or something. Or maybe something like:

Move Tutor in Town!

Come to the Move Tutor in Kanto and learn any move that your pokemon can learn through tutoring here. The event only lasts three days, so hurry in!

Well, Dream and I have been plotting with Giovanni and Cynthia, and we've decided that Giovanni has/is going to win her champion position (the thread is in motion now). I could imagine doing something involving Team Ultimatum's/Rocket's new stake in the Pokemon League, or we could have a large festivity/carnival/convention in Sinnoh, with every trainer and Gym Leader in the league invited? We could have prizes, social events, some plot occur, and other such cal to boot, and maybe something of a tornament? Who knows how that would play out, but thats just my idea.

Oh my goodness, sooo many ideas! I do like them all but I'm way too lazy to say something about each one so..

I REALLY like Hastur's idea of turning Giovanni's takeover of Cynthia's position into a site event. I mean it's only realistic right? And instead of a convention/festivity, it could be a super top secret conference being held to discuss what to do about the situation. Of course, with all these gym leaders, elites, trainers, etc being in the same place they're all going to develop their own dramas too. >:]
As for prizes, we could award things to the top poster in the event, to those who developed the best side plots, things like that?

Hm! I suppose a conference could occur, but between who? The Gym Leaders? The Elite Fours? Would Giovanni be included there? See, I like the idea of damage control occuring, but I also would prefer the Festival so that everyone would be invested and take part of the even, y'know? Not to knock your stuff, I mean your the boss, but I'd think that having a big party with a super secret meeting on the side would work out the best. But that's just me. Again, you're the boss.

Ah, you're right! Jeesh, could you be any more awesome? A festival being held in order to help hide the super secret conference would be awesome. And maybe the super secret conference won't be super secret enough for Team Ultimatum not to interrupt it...

Question though, when you say 'festival' like an actual festival with food booths, games, fireworks, partay music and other things? I imagine it's gonna be noisy and stuff and the villains are all huddled in one building? Is that right? Or we talking about something else entirely?

Also, right, conference between who? The whole of Team Ultimatum? Or is between the Pokemon League and Team Ultimatum where they try and make sort of truce? idk.

While I'm already posting anyway, where's the Team's base? If it has one that is @.@

Oh, oops, I'm sorry. I meant a conference between gym leaders, elites, and the canon trainers discussing how to handle Giovanni taking Cynthia's position. And they threw the festival in order to mask anything suspicious. And yes Grey, by festival that's what we mean. xD

I have no idea where the Team Ultimatum base is. o.o You guys can decide? lulz.

Hm...Well, I imagine that they wouldn't have a base. They'd be mingled in with the crowd in secret while Giovanni attends the festivities, acting as hired card dealers or clerks, or alternatively enjoying the festival as much as anyone else. Of course, he'd have quite a few booths bugged and cameras all about, and when he realizes the lack of gym leaders and champions about, he'd hunt them down and perhaps break into the meeting...? Meanwhile, on the last day of the festival, Team Ultimatium, as lead by another Team Leader, attacks the festival 'forcing' everyone to cut the shit and fight 'together' as to increase the trust that the public puts in Giovanni, perhaps making him slightly popular...? ...just a few ideas. I don't have anything definite juuuuust yet, but eh, I'll be a-tryin'.
