WELCOME BACK MY FRIENDS
TO THE SHOW THAT NEVER ENDS!
“Why would I even bother walking through Kanto? It’d be nice to see Johto again, but there aren’t even any contests to enter here,” Ruby complained as he walked down the path out of the Viridian Forest. He had wanted to find some exotic Pokemon there, but there was nothing but ugly, brutish Bug Pokemon there. He had heard there was something cute like a Beautifly there, but he didn’t seem to have any luck. It was such a let down. Since the easiest way to get to Johto from Hoenn was through Kanto, he really had no other choice in the matter, but he had at least wanted to get something out of it. Going home better be worth it. Zuzu sighed at his trainer’s constant complaining, walking alongside him as they entered the city. Its fins began to twitch as it looked up to the sky, noticing some shifts in the cloud formations.
“Hm? What is it Zuzu?” the fabulous coordinator asked, noticing his Swampert’s attention to the sky. His question seemed to be answered almost immediately as rain seemed to pour down from seemingly out of nowhere, nearly drenching the young Pokedex Holder.
“Oh great! If this keeps up, we may get muddy from the ground!” he yelled in frustration, searching furiously through his backpack in hopes of finding an umbrella. Zuzu didn’t seem to mind the rain all too much, and he probably would even like mud, something that disgusted Ruby. If Sapphire was here, she’d probably just call him a baby, but he really didn’t care that much either way. He searched around for any shelter for the time being, seeing a large building in the distance. He really didn’t care much for who was there as long as he got out of these terrible conditions. He couldn’t be expected to just man up, right?
Taking a sigh of relief as he entered the building, he looked around in order to find out exactly where he was. Zuzu had taken the same liberty he had, enthusiastically moving around in order to find someone. The building seemed to be much more empty than Ruby had expected, since the only thing he was really able to see in the dimly lit room was a half-broken statue. Even the engraving was battered on it. “Is anyone here?” he yelled, half hoping that no one would answer so he wouldn’t have to explain why he had taken the liberty of entering the building without asking first.
