[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px, btable] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Setting: It's dusk now. The sun is settling down just behind the far off hills, turning the sky to a brilliant mix of various hues of pinks, reds, and oranges. Violet City is far from settling down, though. There are still people out and about with the lights of buildings leading their way. It was evenings like these that Falkner absolutely adored. The air was crisp and chilled, though not enough to have him put on a jacket. His dark eyes were closed only for a moment as the breeze whipped through his hair, temporarily brushing it away from his usually-hidden eye. Despite the cold, Falkner was warm. He sat atop the back of his signature pidgeot as he did his usually nightly rounds. With the rise in activity from various criminal organizations, Falkner had become extra aware of things happening in his city. As a gym leader, he had a number of responsibilities other than battling trainers and handing out badges. It was his duty to keep his town as safe as possible. He was supposed to keep troublemakers from doing any trouble-making. And he would honor that responsibility. As his pidgeot made a second round, he gently stroked its neck feathers absentmindedly. "I think we're clear here," he said. Pidgeot gave a light coo in understanding before he turned to head back to the gym. The tawny colored pokemon did a quick barrel roll as it flew over the gym building. When its back was towards the ground, its trainer jumped off, landing quietly on the roof of his own gym. The Pidgeot came around a second time and rested peacefully atop the roof right next to its master. Another eventless night. Falkner wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing. It could be good because that meant things were going fine in the peacful little city. On the other hand, it could also mean something big was going to happen. You know, the calm before the storm. No matter. He'd be ready to take on just about any challenge. Words: 291 Tags: Open Notes: Short opening post. Sorry |
