His adoration for the family's Pokemon earned young Gold the nickname 'Pokemon Boy' around town and he has certainly lived up to this expectation. Gold's adventure started when he spotted Silver stealing Totodile from Professor Elm's lab, he promised Exbo that he would help the little Pokemon get his companion back. Though he was not originally given a Pokedex, Gold worked hard to prove himself and eventually earned himself a Pokedex. When Silver's Totodile wouldn't return to the lab Gold lost the purpose of his journey. He wandered a bit through Johto until he met the Masked Man who proved to be a strong opponent and defeated Gold, making him want to become stronger. He and Silver discovered Team Rocket's purpose and went after a rampaging Gyarados in the Lake of Rage but were frozen by the Masked man. The two boys were saved by Entei and helped Crystal in her fight against Lugia. When the creature disappeared he was sent to watch the battle styles of the Gym Leaders as one of them was suspected to be the Masked Man, but Team Rocket flooded the stadium and created great havoc causing a distraction so the Celebi could be captured. Furious about what the man had done Gold faced the Masked Man once again and discovered his true identity Gold bravely entered a void in time to chase Pierce and though he was briefly trapped by his enemy he was saved by a feather from each of Johto's legendary bird's wings. With the Masked Man defeated Gold was able to train with Red on Mt. Silver to make himself even stronger. Since that time Gold helped greatly helping Emerald to free the other Pokedex Holders by forcing the boy to be honest with himself. And also aided in the final blow against the sea monster that threatened the region with a powerful fire attack from Exbo. More recently Gold helped Arceus return to power by gathering 16 plates and vaporizing Dialga, Palkia and Giratina with Silver and Crystal's help. |
