boring, boring, boring. days as tedious as these bothered silver to the core; it made him feel as though he was merely withering away. he’d been depressed lately, and for reasons unknown to him. he was missing something—something pivotal to his life. maybe it was stronger pokemon? or maybe he was feeling homesick—then again, the trainer didn’t necessarily have a ‘home’ to go to, or miss, perhaps he secretly yearned for a home to call his own. a happy family who loves him, or something rainbows and smiley faces like that. he didn’t know what it was, all he knew was that he found little joy in life. pokemon battling barely excited him anymore—the discovery surprised even him. the gruel and sweat he put into training his strong pokemon was not putting out desired results—he wanted to battle against opponents who were actually well disciplined and talented trainers. he wanted to feel that thrill he felt when he was at the stressful brink of losing the battle before he came on top at the very end. silver wanted to be thrilled. perhaps a lack of socialization on his part constituted his slightly depression. most likely yes, although he would never admit it to himself. he’d feel better soon with the help of a battle—or some team ultimatum executives, perhaps; they were always a joy to battle. sitting with his back pressed to the pokemon department mart in goldenrod city, silver idly watched trainers and non-trainers alike exit and enter the department store; he’d idly scan his eyes over the many fashion’s worn by trainers today, and even the small cutesy pokemon girl trainers insisted on carrying in their arms all day. although he did get a kick out of looking under their fluttering skirts as they breezed past. he couldn’t help but notice a familiar face nearing him amongst a mob of bustling citizens—crystal, the annoyingly heroic girl he happens to bump into from time to time. crystal was a nice girl—he supposed, normal and feminine in all aspects. she considered them to be friends, whereas, he merely shrugged off the idea of them being true ‘friends’. sometimes, just sometimes she held enjoyable conversation, but she’d almost always end up preaching to him about being kind to pokemon. annoying. ”hm, what a change. i almost never see you without the ol’ balls and chains. where is the golden child anyway? ” he paused for a moment as the young trainer neared, eying her every move; he could tell she was a bit surprise about them meeting. ”actually, i don’t really care all too much about him. now tell me, what has brought you to goldenrod? i’m sure you’ve already acquired more than a few badges from this city.” |
