Red would fantasize everyday about becoming the best trainer out there, just like he had heard stories of his dad from his mother. Before he turned 11, he snuck around to Professor Oak's lab to play with the pokemon. He loved pokemon ever since he was little; and when the day finally came to get his own, he received a pikachu. Their relationship wasn't the best at first, but they became best friends. They were and still are inseparable. As Red traveled on his journey, he had grown farther from his childhood friend, Green. From friends, to friendly rivals, to a relationship solely based on competition, Red wasn't sure if he would ever have his Rival as his best friend anymore. But Red never let that bother him; he had his mind set on becoming a pokemon master, like he had heard about his father. Well, after defeating Team Rocket, Red found out the truth from his mother; his father wasn't a great pokemon trainer. He wasn't even a pokemon trainer. He was a scum bucket that scammed people out of their money. Red's dream of ever encountering his father was shattered; but at that point, he didn't even want to meet him. Red decided to not let this get the best of him, so he aimed for the championship. He now resides on Mt. Silver, training his pokemon and awaiting any worth challengers to battle him. He leaves his mother worrying about him, but he can barely face her now.
