There was formerly two Gyms in Saffron, though Sabrina took it into her hands to wipe out the Karate Master and make her Gym the only one. She also possesses psychic abilities herself and uses this to her advantage during battles by communicating with her Pokemon through telepathy. She has earned herself a bit of a reputation because of this and has even heard some people fear her because of her abilities. As the only child, she was a spoiled baby and received much attention from her family. The more she grew, the more apparent it was that she was developing an obnoxious side. At the age of five, she was wreaking havoc in the kitchen when her parents were out on business. She picked up a spoon and carelessly tossed it in the air, surprised to see that it had bent drastically when she went to pick it up. When her parents returned later that day, shocked to discover a ruined kitchen, Sabrina presented to them the bent spoon. From that day on, it became very clearly how afraid her parents were of her abilities. At first, they tried to shrug it off like nothing had happened, though similar events continued to happen. The day came when they could no longer deny that their daughter possessed... different abilities and they tried to reason with her about it. Now that she had discovered her abilities, Sabrina refused to ignore them and this frightened her parents even more. Her parents tried to find her some sort of "help" for her countless times, which ranged from self-proclaimed psychics that Sabrina easily scared off to those who studied such abilities. The professors that came to study Sabrina's psychic abilities were astounded by what she could do at such a young age that they were merely speechless. Sabrina, on the other hand, seemed to enjoy the attention and took it as an opportunity to learn as much about psychic abilities as much as she could to use it to her advantage. At the age of eight, she announced to her parents that she wanted her very first Pokemon. Although her parents were very reluctant to give her one, they eventually gave in because of fear. A few days later, her father returned home from work with a Pokeball that he gave to Sabrina. The Pokemon inside was a young Abra that Sabrina quickly befriended and became the best of friends with, feeling like he was the only being in her life that understood her and shared the same powers. Her Abra stood by her side for the years to come, remaining a faithful and loved companion. By the time that Sabrina was fifteen years-old, she had come very close to mastering her psychic abilities. She had decided that she would leave home as soon as she could to become a trainer, planning to challenge all of the Gyms and earning the eight badges of Kanto. She did just that, traveling around for awhile and catching Pokemon of her desires. The entire time, she kept her Abra by her side and hid her abilities from everyone she crossed paths with. One by one, she defeated the Gyms and collected all eight badges for herself. However, she had no desire to challenge the league. Instead, Sabrina set her eyes on training her Pokemon and strengthening them to the best of their abilities. She spent quite some time training and training, aiming for a higher goal that she had kept tucked into the back of her mind. Soon enough, she finished training and returned to Saffron City, having evolved her Abra into a Kadabra by now. While there, she took out the entire local Gym, defeating the Karate Master and proclaiming that she would now be the Gym Leader of Saffron City. After that, Sabrina opened her own Gym next door to the dojo. As expected, her Gym was based around Psychic-type Pokemon. She continued to accept challengers, defeating most and occasionally becoming triumphed by the stronger ones. Even though she dislikes battling to this day, she continues to run the Saffron City Gym and accept challengers. From time to time, she will leave to travel and expand her Pokemon collection.
