IN ABSENCE OF AN ADMIN

So. Owl has been gone for about a week now. There's a thread for this conundrum now.

What should we do? Are we going to wait, move elsewhere or panic something else entirely?
... also, a headcount of who still cares would be nice. >:

Do we have any way of contacting her outside of a private message, like msn, email, etc.?

I'd ask if anyone knew her irl, but if someone did, they would have told us why she's not on by now.

I say we give her one or two more days, and if she still hasn't shown up we appoint someone to fill in until she gets back. The only problems will be that they still technically won't be an admin, so they won't be able to create boards, move threads, or do anything else staff-exclusive. Not that that matters, but still, it's kinda worth pointing out.

It would be just a shame to let all of our hard work to go to waste. So I was reading ProBoards Support and, well, it's not looking so good for this site... And I quote (look at the bold paragraph):

"Transferring ownership (advice)

The main admin will have to give you the admin account password, the admin account can be used just for those special powers if the new admin wants to keep their own profile/posts etc.

If contacting the main admin is impossible for one reason or another, the only advice we can give is that you register for a new board, and make the old one into an archive if you want to retain the old posts etc.

Making a board into an archive is done by disabling posting in each board, (assumimg someone has the power to do this).

Then on the old board, add a message so that members know the reason for moving, and that the board is 'read only', also add a link so the members can follow, they will have to register for the new board, you cannot force them by registering for them.

On the new board, include a link back to the old board.

The 'Official' way to transfer ownership
In cases where the admin decides to hand over ownership, this can be done officially by following these instructions.
Tha admin will have to post in support, the account they use must use the email of the admin account, and state that they wish to transfer ownership to another member, that member must be named,
The named member must then reply that they accept the transfer, again the members account should use the same email account as what they use at the board in question."

@burgh - I could find her email, but if she hasn't given it to us it's a little... uncomfortable to just be all "hey, about that site..."
Our biggest problem is approving apps - as you can see they're kind of building up.

I suppose we could just post "hey you, you're accepted, go make us alive" though.

I was planning on joining because this site looks so cool! If she doesn't show for another week or so we should think about making another site as kind of a 2.0 type deal. I would love to help keep this site alive if anyone is willing to help out. So if it comes down to making another site, I would be more than willing to help create it (I'm not good with coding and such, but I can help type things up). I'm gonna keep this site open because I really don't want this place to die!
