Moving into the region at a young age, he easily befriended the boy next door, Pearl. Pearl and he are as close as brothers, spending the majority time together and paling around. During the young boy’s lives, the two formed a comedian pair after seeing two famous comedians at a show. Dia lead a fairly normal live, what was considered normal around Pearl, until the two won the “Judges’ Special Merit Prize” at the New Generation Funny Grand Prix in Jubilife City for a miss coordinated comedy act. While the two boys were going up to the stage, they ran into the Professor and switched envelopes without acknowledging it until it was too late. They ended up escorting and guarding Platinum Berlitz on her journey to the top of Mount Coronet, although for a while both boys believed they were on a reality show but this didn’t fool Dia to figure out Platinum was more than just a normal girl and was instead a Lady. The trio continued their journey through tough times, testing their relationships and trust in each other. The two boys discovered Platinum’s true identity, which Dia had figured she wasn’t what Pearl deemed her as. He admitted to Pearl this, saying he didn’t want to take away the misunderstanding that brought them together in the first place. At that point, the two boys made an oath to protect Platinum and keep their identities a secret. Encountering Team Galactic and its leader in Celestic Town, Diamond and Pearl had a huge argument that nearly cost them the victory eventually Pearl saw Diamond’s side of the story. The moved on, learning the disappearance of Mr. Berlitz and Professor Rowan. The trio went to find the two, mistaking Bryon as the kidnapper. After realizing it was just a misunderstanding, Diamond’s and Pearl’s identities were revealed by which she was completely horrified by the news, but decided to stick with the two boys. The trio was split up to defend the three lakes, Diamond was assigned to Lake Verity although Byron didn’t believe that he was strong enough and forced him to train on Iron Island with Riley. Dia learned to overcome his weakness in speed from this training. After this Diamond found himself back in Jubilife where he saved the President of the Poketech Company from a wild Lickitung, which evolved during the battle it was getting caught. Afterwards, he arrived in Sandgem Town and into the Berlitz Mansion. Being mistaken as a thief at first, although this was cleared up quickly. He fought off a swarm of Yanmega sent to attack Rowan’s lab by Galactic. Before going to Lake Verity, Dia took one last detour home to find winter weather clothes. With the clothes he found a note announcing to Diamond that his mom had traveled to the lake to pick berries. Diamond rushed to the lake finding his mother being held hostage by Mars. The mother/son team fought Mars off. After Mespirt was awakened, Dia managed to hop on the Galactic Air Shuttle and to the headquarters of Team Galactic, where he disguised himself as a grunt. He saved Mespirt but lost his Pokedex, he was later reunited with Pearl and Platinum. The trio grouped with Cynthia and headed to Spear Pillar where the four split up into pairs as time and space begin to distort. The two boys begin to fight the dragons, but are quickly halted by the dragons’ abilities. A black hole appears and threatens to suck everyone into it, Diamond attempts to dive into the hole and close it himself but before he can do this he is saved by a Regigigas. The giant and Diamond decided to team up to battle the two dragons, which successfully prevented them from moving and causing anymore destruction. He is confronted by Cyrus as he attacks the boy, Diamond’s words to Cyrus’ question threw him off balance and the battle ended with the trio winning. But before they could go home, Cyrus, Dialga, and Palkia are stolen off by a shadowy creature through a portal. Dia now spends time running around and training, traveling, and running errands for those who require his service.
