Cynthia looked over the large body of water that was the sea. She always loved sunsets here; the way the light reflected off the water was beautiful. Of course she wasn't alone. Gerry the Braviary perched on the sand next to her, following her gaze out towards the orange sun.
Cynthia sighed and ruffled his feathers with her right hand. Though Geronomo hadn't been with her long he was adjusting well to life with the Champion. Two curious Ducklett landed next to him, each looking very mischeivious. One hopped forward cautiously and touched Gerry's scarlet feathers with its wing. Gerry opened one eye and cocked his eyebrow, but that was enough to break the curious ducks' bravado and they were off in a flurry of blue feathers.
Cynthia chuckled and turned away from the edge of the waves that threatened to soak her shoes. Gerry flapped after her and landed on her shoulder. Of course the vacation had taken a boring turn. No interesting and new people had passed through for a while and she hadn't met any pokemon that she hadn't added to her pokedex. And no sign of evil people. Peaceful but boring. Cynthia hoped it would change soon.

Yes, all was peaceful... But that certainly was about to change. If one were to turn and examine their surroundings, an odd flash of light green would be sure to burn an image beneath their eyes. Laying along the shore of a beach, stifling weakly as the waves dug him into the sand was a twenty year old man with a huge history there in Unova. However, whether Cynthia recognized him or not wasn't one of his potential worries.
"Too tired... I guess I could fall asleep here. I mean, I'll just wake up in a few minutes, day, months... And maybe I'll still be alive." N thought. Of course, he wouldn't be alive at that point... But he was extremely exhausted. I mean, the boy had swallowed quite a bit' of sea water. N knew that wasn't healthy, but he lacked the willpower to pull himself back up onto shore, and within a few moments he had his eyes shut, coughing very lowly as the sea water stirred uncomfortably in his chest.
"As long as my friends are alright, it's okay... I couldn't have kept riding on Nomia to Unova. Speaking of which, where is this place? I-I'll worry about that later... Sleep sounds like a gift from Arceus, and if Arceus is a Pokemon and I'm doing what I do right, I'll probably wake up later." He decided. And unfortunately, those were his final thoughts before drifting off into a deep, but potentially fatal sleep.

To Wally's own impression, Unova was like a whole new world for him. Seeing the many new Pokemon that the region offered gave him an odd mix of nervousness and wonder, and he never even came to see that it's own Pokemon League was like. Coming onto the sizzling beaches of Undella Town, he seemed to be very much relaxed. Altaria was out of his Pokeball and was floating about the skies, acting as an silent and ever vigilant guardian of the trainer he came to call his own. The sun began to blind the Pokemon a bit, as it did Wally, to his dismay. Having to deal with symptoms of his own was irritating enough, but having bright lights on you was a whole other story entirely. Something soft caught the boy's leg and with a sudden yelp, Wally fell onto the sands below. The trainer got up and coughed a storm, squinting and looking behind to see...a body? Wally froze in place and huddled other to the man, who came to be a familiar face in the form of N. He looked to not even be breathing, and was a victim of the ocean itself. "Oh dear...you're the one from before...", Wally began to say. "I shouldn't leave you here to suffer, so I'll...um..." He began to frantically try and remember the usual procedures of a drowned person as he turned N over and tried to look into his face, only to draw shards, yet, it was the best he could think of. Wally tried to focus onto the other man's mouth and lurched his head closer and closer, taking as much air as his weakened lung would allow while puckering his lips. "H-here goes, then..."

Cynthia glanced along the shore and nearly gasped. There was a body on the beach! She ran over as fast as her un-beach like apparel allowed her to go. Gerry launched off her shoulder and glided to the boy's side as another kid with green hair bent over to preform CPR or something. Cynthia had never bothered to learn the skill but instantly regretted it.
Geronomo landed on the sand across from the potential rescuer and began to fan the victim with his scarlet wings. Cynthia arrived moments later, breathless. She stood back, waiting to see how this would play out. Still the victim looked familiar. That hair, those clothes... N. The name turned her blood to ice. That dreaded name, the name of an enemy. No, no. It just couldn't be him. Cynthia just wouldn't believe it. No. There was no way. His face was flashed on the internet. Crazy. Dangerous. Why was he back?! But the other kid. Well, he was quite brave, trying to save this villain's life. But that could be stopped.
"Do you know what you're doing kid? Do you know who that is? Get away from him!" Not that her desperate cries would have an affect on the rescuer. Gerry screeched next to N's ear, rather loudly too. Everyone on the beach looked over and Cynthia covered her ears. If that didn't wake him up, she didn't know what would.

N's mind had grown accustomed to the silent waves, and when Cynthia's wretched bird started screeching, N's green eyes shot open and what he saw in front of him made him want to jump up and punch the nearest human he saw across the face. Of course, he wouldn't have done something like that on any regular occasion... It's just, any form of intimacy between he and anyone... Well, it just wasn't a great idea in his personal opinion.
N acted as quick as he could and rolled across the sand and away from Wally with an utterly confused look in his eyes. He opened his mouth to protest against the boy, only to feel the horridly sick. The green-haired boy staggered over and started gagging; water flowing out of his throat.
After getting the sea water out of his system, the green-haired boy stood up and stared at the two with a confused look in his eyes. "That was certainly less than attractive..." He murmured; staring at the two awkwardly. He wasn't sure why, but the strange mysterious blond over there was glaring at him awkwardly. Wally, on the other hand... What was he doing there? Was he back in Kanto?
"Where am I?" N asked; half-staring at Wally and half-staring at Cynthia. "Also, you, over there... Whom are you? You're looking at me with a rather disgusted look in your eyes..." He murmured silently.

Wally was nearly hellbent on helping the other in need, yet suddenly a Braviary swooped down out of nowhere and let out a move that made him catch his own ears in pain. Seeing the sudden occurence from above, Altaria swooped down and landed alongside his trainer as he fell back, leaving the way to find N regaining his conscience. Wally landed on the sand again, ears ringing and his head in a daze as his blue and white companion attended to him. Wally's thoughts recalled themselves as he sat up. The last thing he can clearly remember in that split second was a woman's voice...of a warning. "Do you know what you're doing kid? Do you know who that is? Get away from him!" N?...what would he have to do with anything. Granted, he barely knew anything of Unova's past events, yet confused, Wally still was. His eyes opened to be none other than the Sinnoh League Champion, Cynthia. "Her?...Here?" An odd occurrence to meet one as famous as her so suddenly, but then again, who expected to trip over a half-drowned person on a fine, sunny day? As N began to vomit saltwater, Wally couldn't help but wince out of instinct, yet as he finally spoke, he swallowed his shreads of past fear and began to step forward. "Um...Undella Town, I believe...Unova." he softly spoke, as he turned to gaze to his side at Cynthia, with an odd sense of wonder...

Cars were a rather odd sight in certain areas of the world. Most gym-based cities usually eschewed automobiles for bikes due to the influx of pokemon trainers and children around their respective areas and paths to other respective areas. Unova, however, seemed odd in that regard, the many cities domineering the industrial region favoring cars and by and large being more popular with the general public due to the population being centered in said cities. Giovanni found it ironic that, despite this, driving along the road to Undella Town he had gotten many odd looks from passing cyclists and pedestrians-- it seems as though even in Unvoa, automobiles are situational at best.
"Fifteen minutes, Mr. Giovanni?"
"Indeed, thank you. Just circle around the block a bit and then wait here for me."
The red-velvet interior of the 1940's Lincoin Continental was a soothing atmosphere to say the least. The seats were comfortable, and car itself seemed to glow with their pleasurable color, and they provided just the right atmosphere for Giovanni to relax in, despite the constantly bumpy road. In a way, he felt almost disappointed to leave it, but of course that altered his stride not as he opened the door and left the vehicle after grabbing the kingpin's hat. After nodding to the non-discrepant driver, it promptly speed off on the narrow and grass path, leaving Giovanni to look upon the scene that unfolded towards the sandy shore...there was the target, Miss Cynthia, in what appeared to be a particularly nasty struggle with a near comatose boy and another younger man. Upon closer inspection, it became apparent whom the 'comatose' figure was and why there was a struggle at all-- that was Ghetsis's brat, N. It seems as though he showed up where he ought not have...what a bother. With a sigh, he began to descend the sandy knoll, his black suit and coat along with his hat making his identity an enigma...though he had a sneaking suspicion Cynthia would catch on to who exactly he was.
That was, afterall, part of the plan.
"Miss Cynthia of the Elite Four...we meet at last. Is there some sort of altercation here? Is there anyway I could assist in defusing it?"

Cynthia jumped at the sound of the smooth voice behind her. She even broke her death stare at N. This was more important than the half-drowned kid. He had just vomited sea water; not exactly a good sign. And the voice, well its owner, was a more intense issue. She glanced at the boy across from her and his Altaria, her eyes flashing a warning. It would be best if he left, he didn't want to get involved with this she was sure. Though he seemed to be friendly with N...
The Sinnoh League Champion was always good with voices. Not with faces, she had learned that they could be decietful. But she knew the voices of her challengers. A voice held emotions, it was like a finger print to her. Each was unique. And there was no way that she could forget the voice that suddenly appeared behind her.
Giovanni.
Even Gerry stood rigid on the sand. Cynthia held up her arm and the bird flapped to his usual perch on her shoulder. Giovanni and N, a dangerous combination. Coincidence? Cythina didn't believe in coincidences. She pulled out Grace the Garchomp's pokeball out from under her cloak, ready to use in case of emergency. Grace was a trusted partner and a great intimidation factor.
Young families watched in horror at the scene unfolding. Most grabbed their children and ran out, afaid of what the next few minutes would hold.
The girl gritted her teeth and spun around to face the new threat, but backed up a couple of steps so that N was not directly to her back. This would be the other boy a chance to run and would put her in a favorable position to apprehend both enemies.
"Giovanni," her voice was suprisingly calm. "And yes, you could defuse the problem. You could go back to the rat hole you crawled out of. And stop using large words," she mumbled the last part under her breath. But her challenge was still in her words. She wouldn't let this crime boss get the best of her. There was no way.

The look in the blonde girl's eyes confused N. How could someone in Kanto look at him like that? If he couldn't get away from people's vengeance even in Kanto, then things were just getting ridiculous. However, after hearing Wally, N could only stare at the two quizzically. Unova? How? Had he drifted that far without knowing it? Before N could speak up and ask either of the two trainers himself, a smooth voice interrupted them. A voice that belonged to none other than the head of the team his father had forced him to join, Giovanni.
And with Giovanni's appearance ended N's freedom of speech. The green-haired boy bit' down on his tongue to hold back any rude retorts he had for Cynthia for acting like such a rude little dipshit. Did nobody watch the news these days? If they did, they should know that he had changed... Well, at least he had. Now he didn't really have much of a choice. People had a right to be mad with him this time, and he even had a right to be mad with himself.
Rather than saying anything, N averted his gaze away from Wally and stood staring at the ground with an expressionless gaze. Now that Giovanni had appeared, the green-haired boy figured he'd be controlling the situation, and the last thing N wanted to do was make a fool of himself and put his precious friends on the line.
"I hate this entire organization... What the hell is Giovanni doing here, anyway?" N thought quietly to himself; clenching his fists in irritation.

Giovanni smiled at Cynthia's response- oh how typical of the great champion. He put his hand on his hat for a moment, as shadows consumed his face...It was time to enact step one.
"Oh, but I disagree. Your un-justified rage towards this young man over here that was fueling your own dilema has been abandoned and forgotten due to my own presence...so in a way, I've already diffused that situation. Don't bother to thank me, it's been no trouble at all...but enough about that. You must be wondering why I am here, no?"
With a quick snap and a wide smile, Giovanni flung off his coat and hat, as they glided through the air behind him, landing on and perching themselves upon a nearby tree branch. Underneath the discarded garb, Giovanni wore a handsome black turtle neck along with black dress pants and sharp dress shoes. On his belt, five pokeballs were aligned in careful order, and in his hand laid the sixth one. He grinned sharply as he spoke his next few sentences.
"Then let us waste no time. I am Giovanni Famiglia, Leader of the Viridian City Gym. I challenge you, Cynthia Shirona, for your title as champion of the Sinnoh Region. I will give you the benefit of the first move."

*Insert Cynthia music here"As Pokemon League Champion, I accept your challenge!" She said heroically as she did before most matches. She clipped Grace's pokeball back on her belt. She would start off the show with total chaos (no pun intended). She would make Giovanni regret challenging her. "Cae, let's do this!" She tossed out the pokeball. Click for Battle Music. Spiritomb appeared in a flash of white light. It was used to being sent out first as that was Cynthia's normal stradegy. Having no weaknesses was a major advantage. Chaos stared at Giovanni with an unnerving gaze, daring him to send out his pokemon. "Well, thanks for your gentleman-like offer. I doubt I'll ever see that again... But you should know the rules, you run a gym. Challengers get the first move. So come on, you scared already?" She taunted. Geronomo ruffled his feathers from his perch on Cynthia's shoulder. He stared at Giovanni, not trusting him one bit. Gerry squawked loudly. There was more to this than met the eye.

N held in a sigh of relief. Giovanni was just challenging Cynthia? Well, if the blonde was smart, she'd decline. "She's one of the leaders, right? I mean, she couldn't be so dense as to put her position on the line so confidently. Giovanni is the leader of the infamous team rocket... Yes, this girl will decline. She's certainly not stupid." N thought. He figured that Cynthia would decline the offer without a doubt in her mind. The last thing anyone would want was Giovanni to become leader. To be the head of the elite was a very important position to have... Although, he himself had defeated the leader of the elite four in Unova. But, that time he had had Reshiram on his side.
"As Pokemon League Champion, I accept your challenge!"
Wait, what? N stood there staring into space in slight shock. "Is this girl an idiot?!" He thought; resisting the urge to slam his hand into his forehead. Well, it couldn't be helped... As much as he disliked the situation, he'd have to do something about Wally. The green-haired boy slowly turned to Wally with a rather sadistic smile, something N had practiced. His cover was blown, although he had been having fun being a good guy himself.
But if it got to his father that he had been kind to other trainers and he had helped them escape, his father would do horrible things to his friends. Although N hated the idea of battling, he took a step towards Wally with the same smile. "Hey brat, I wouldn't try anything." He murmured; bringing a pokeball into one of his hands. "I've almost conquered the whole of Unova, Kanto, Shinnoh and Jhoto, and I can do it all again." He spoke darkly.
"I sound disgusting!" N thought; gagging silently on his own words. When he got out of this situation, Giovanni was going to pay... Until then, he could only pity Wally and Cynthia... Well, maybe not Cynthia. Cynthia wasn't exactly making a wise decision at that moment. If anything, he pitied Cynthia's Pokemon.

(Taste the power of my battle music)
Giovanni let his teeth show as his smile widened. She accepted, just as Giovanni had predicted...she was far to prideful and cofident to do otherwise. Just as planned...now, here came the interesting part. The battle part. As the Spiritomb shot from it's red and white capsule, Giovanni himself released his own pokemon--- a particularly large Honchkrow errupted from the blinding white light of the pokeball it was encased within, and perched itself upon Giovanni's shoulder.
"Your overconfidence proceeds you, Cynthia. This isn't a gym you know. This is business. And you'll come to find that I mean it."
With a confident and taunting smirk, Honchkrow began activity on cue. The bird gave a loud sigh, as it glowed a noticeable purple. It itself seemed to be taunting Cynthia...except her well trained eye would undoubtably notice what it was trying to do. It was using the move 'Swagger' on her Spiritomb quite casually, and once the damage was done, it landed gracefully on the floor and stared at it's opponent, waiting for it's next move...waiting to pounce.

Dirty tactics. Why did she hate dirty tactics? Oh yeah, they made her life suck. Chaos was now confused. Great. Of course, she could always return him. But that's not how Cynthia rolled. And besides, he'd just confuse another pokemon.
By staying in, she hoped to suprise Giovanni, keep him off his feet. She looked at Cae. His vortex was spinning the wrong way, she could tell that something was wrong. Come on, Cae, don't fail me now. She silently hoped.
Giovanni was taunting her, she knew it. "Look Giovanni, I'm not like the others. Not like Wallace or Lance. They are too cautious, they wouldn't accept your challenge. That's what makes a real champion. The one that accepts every challenge despite fear of a loss. Just look at Steven and Alder, both some of the best. And they both lost. Alder to that sadistic fool over there and Steven to Wallace. But I don't plan to lose Giovanni. You plan for me to lose, don't you? But no matter. You will see the true power of the Pokemon League, right here, right now!"
Spiritomb's spinning grew faster. Her stalling had worked, Cae was in a better place in his confusion. A place where he would listen. "Double Team Cae, now!" The Spiritomb seemed to split in two. Then the new copy split again. Soon, there were sixteen Spiritomb spinning in a hypnotic fashion. Cynthia grinned. If Giovanni was going to play dirty, she would too.

"Alder and Stephen lost because they were weak, Cynthia. Not because they were particularly reserved or cautious-- because they weren't fit to keep the position. Just as you aren't. Don't get me wrong Cynthia-- you're good. Very good. But I'm better. And I'll even prove it to you. Just pay attention, you'll see why..."
As the many forms of Spiritomb circled about Honchkrow, the bird merely scoffed. With but a twich from Giovanni, it knew what to do. It began to glow a deep and dark black aura surrounded the bird before suddenly and violently did a burst of dark energy explode from it's body. The area-effect attack shook the trees and branches nearby, clearing the sand around the birds area-- and flying straight for the many copies of Spiritomb. The quite bird yawned as the attack flew-- it didn't seem to be taking the battle very seriously...or perhaps this was in itself a deception?
